Random Number Generator Project - February 2015
Objective
Build a circuit board by soldering all the components onto it. If done, the board should simulate a dice and generate a random number 1-6.
Final Project
Test results from simulator out off 100
Evaluation
During this week, I learned a lot about soldering. I learned the correct techniques you need to use in order to create a functional circuit board. I learned that you cannot use too much solder or else it will create a bubble which could effect the connection of the component to the circuit. Also you can not use too little solder or else there will not be a full connection. I learned that you should avoid touching the soldering rod to the circuit board because it can break the circuit. Some of the safety procedures I took was to wear safety goggles, make sure not to touch the soldering rod, and to try not to breath in the smoke that came from melting the solder. I wore safety goggles because when we would clip the excess wire it would sometimes shoot off and could potentially hurt you. Since the soldering rod was very hot it was important not to touch it because it can burn you. I hope to use what I learned this week in the future for making more complex projects and to further expand my knowledge of circuit boards and about the skill of soldering.
